What are porcelain veneers? Porcelain veneers are thin, porcelain shells that are custom-made to match the color of your teeth and bonded to its surface to remedy cosmetic flaws.
Are porcelain veneers for me? Porcelain veneers are used for a variety of things. They can fix teeth that are discolored, worn down, broken, misaligned, irregularly shaped, or have gaps.
What’s the procedure like for getting porcelain veneers? After you come in and we decide that porcelain veneers is the best method to fix your dental issue, we prepare your teeth by removing a very thin amount of enamel (the veneer will be equally as thick). You may or may not have local anesthesia for the process.
From there, we will make impressions of the tooth and have it sent to a lab for the veneer to be made. We’ll then make several adjustments, trimming it for the perfect fit. We’ll cement it to your teeth, and the final step will be removing any excess cement. A follow-up visit may be necessary to make sure everything has gone smoothly.
